Oil-based gilding mixtion is a special mixture used to apply gold leaf on non-porous surfaces (glass, metal, marble, etc.). It is mainly used on large surfaces, for outdoor work, in rather dry weather conditions and in places where the dust level is not too high. It offers greater long-term durability than the 3-hour mixtion.

To comply with the new classification of one of the ingredients used in our mixtion, we have reformulated the Charbonnel 12h oil-based gilding mixtion to maintain all its properties. This applies to all sizes of Charbonnel 12h oil-based gilding mixtion: 75ml, 250ml, 1L and 5L.

Under “normal” humidity conditions, meaning less than 60% air humidity, the properties of the new formula remain unchanged, with a drying time before use of about 12 hours.
However, in high humidity conditions, the drying time increases significantly (up to an additional 24 hours).
